Our Ministerial mandate includes the following:

  1. Conduct thorough and comprehensive investigations into criminal allegations related to real properties. This includes forceful entry, illegal occupation, violent takeovers, fraudulent sales/resales, destruction of property, extortion, threats and other self-help actions.
  2. Protect legitimate property owners from violent or fraudulent disruptions and ensure they can enjoy peaceful possession and development of their properties.
  3. Enforce the provisions of the 2016 Law by taking appropriate actions based on investigation outcomes, including arrests and supporting full prosecution.
  4. Collaborate with security agencies (Police, Amotekun, etc.) and the Office of the Attorney-General/Ministry of Justice for effective enforcement and prosecution.
  5. Receive, process and investigate petitions from the public (free of charge) and promote public awareness to discourage self-help in land matters.
